Year 7 Zoo excursion

All Year 7 students visited Zoos Victoria this week to complete outcomes associated with the Year 7 Science AUSvels course.  At Melbourne Zoo students learnt about animal adaptation and classification in zoo classroom sessions and then applied the knowledge to tasks around the zoo.

The Year 7 ELMS students went to Healesville Sanctuary and spent the day researching the needs of some of Australia's most endangered animals.  By the end of the day the students had many great ideas about how we could improve the lot of some of our most vulnerable creatures.

Ideas such as using recycled paper towel and toilet paper reminded all of us that there is a lot we can do in our community to help conserve vulnerable and endangered species.

A great day was had by all.
