Medieval day

Medieval Day is an important part of the History curriculum at McKinnon Secondary College.

After studying Medieval History for a semester, students take part in this program that involves learning about and participating in activities about aspects of Medieval life such as song and dance, weapons and armour, entertainment and games, fashion and knighthood.

Students then showcase a class performance, create a coat of arms to represent their form, and dress up in Medieval fancy dress in a competition to win the Medieval Day Cup. The students feast on hot chickens and lots of share plates and head out to lunchtime with serious food comas. The afternoon is spent watching a medieval movie in the theatre and reflecting on the semester that was.
