Year 9 Camp

Despite the rain that fell on Melbourne, the Year 9 students managed to enjoy three cold but almost rain-free days in the beautiful countryside of Kyneton.

The days were filled with activities such as canoeing, raft building, archery, a flying fox, 'Capture the Flag', orienteering, initiatives, 'Possum Glider', team games and the highly anticipated, REACH sessions. The students were quick to immerse themselves in all activities, making the most of the opportunities to compete and interact with their peers. As fuel for busy days, the camp staff provided hearty meals: a sausage roll lunch being a highlight for most.

The night time activities included a Pyjama Dance Party and an option between a movie night and time to burn off energy in the sports gym on the second night. The Pyjama Dance party involved lights, a smoke machine and some impressive DJ-ing from Mr King, Mr Desalvo and Michael Kolestas. There were some equally impressive dance moves on display, teachers and students alike getting involved in Mr Machin's aerobics routine.

Both teachers and students really enjoyed their time at Campaspe Downs, a memorable experience for the whole cohort to share together. A huge thank you goes to the teachers who attended the camp who made it possible: Ms Andrieux, Dr Brown, Mr Cukierman, Mr Desalvo, Ms Doctor, Ms Douglas, Ms Greenwood, Mr King, Ms Krommydas, Ms Mauger, Mr McConnon, Mr Machin, Mr McLeod, Ms O'Brien, Mr Pantelios, Mr Van Pelt, Patty, Jarod, Liam Adlington and Ms Ulms, a student teacher. Thank you to the fantastic Year 9s, all 302 of you who attended camp, for their enthusiasm and energy. And finally, thank you to Mr Reynolds and Ms Dickson for their organisation and facilitation of a very positive camp.
