Year 10 Global Conflict Excursion

Last Thursday the year 10 elective Global Conflict class went to the Islamic Museum of Australia.

The purpose of this excursion was to de-mystify the media's perception that anyone involved in heavy conflict is Muslim.

We heard from Sherene Hussain, Islamic Council of Victoria's Vice President, on how important her faith is to her and how the events that unfolded on 9/11/2001 was the darkest day of her life.

It was inspiring to listen to a feminist Muslim woman outline the true ideals of her faith and counter the misconceptions of Islam. A truly excellent way of learning the influence Islam has had on the global world and also Australia.
