Run for the Kids

On Sunday 9 April members of the McKinnon Secondary College staff, parent and student community took part in the Run For The Kids. The proceeds of the event go towards the Good Friday Appeal for The Royal Children’s Hospital.

With thunder and lightning serving as the perfect alarm clock at 6am on a Sunday morning in the middle of the holidays, conditions certainly weren’t ideal for the 5km or 15km event that went through the Domain Tunnel and out of the Bolte Bridge before finishing up in the Botanical Gardens.

The idea to enter a team from McKinnon sprang from Breakfast Club which is a fitness club that runs every Tuesday morning throughout year.

Thanks again to participants from the McKinnon community who made up the McKinnon Run team.

Today I completed the Royal Children's Hospital Run4kids 14.7km run and it was awesome. It was great how I could contribute to charity and participate in something that I really enjoy. I even set a new PB at 82 minutes. It was a great experience.
P.S. I also met Steve Moneghetti.

Thanks
