Victorian All-Schools Road Relay

On Saturday 12 May at Princes Park, McKinnon was represented by 12 of our finest Cross-Country runners at the Victorian All Schools Road Relay Championships. This competition is separate to our normal Government Schools competition. This competition includes all runners from all schools around the state, so our runners are up against the finest athletes that private schools have to offer.

Our day began with our Under 16 Boys team of Vicktor Hedborg, Finn Paynter, Matt Day and Seamus O’Brien. The boys each completed one lap of 2.2km. They finished in 15th place out of a total of 41 teams. This was an incredible achievement by the boys who will still be able to run in that age group next year.

An hour later the Under 18 Boys and Girls event started, where each athlete had to run a 3km lap. The Under 18 Boys consisted of Jason Clayton, Will Sharp, Liam Atchinson and Nick Poulos. This was our most successful team for the day, with the boys finishing in 7th place out of 39 teams. Jason was one of the quickest runners of the day with a time of 9.39 for the 3km, well done Jason.

The Under 18 Girls team consisted of Genevieve O’Brien, Jessie Ginsberg, Eleanora Gilbert and Emma Hattingh. The girls finished an incredible 10th place out of 33 teams.

Well done to all our runners from the weekend, and good luck to all runners in Kingston on Wednesday
