Year 7 Ancient History Notables

For two evenings in September McKinnon bcame a living museum. Past and present notables made themselves available to impart their knowledge on parents, students, teachers and family friends.

These nights were the culmination of ten weeks of hard work by students in Years Seven and Eight.

The Night of the Notables program stresses independent learning, wide and deep research, superior products, personal commitment and performance and higher level thinking skills. Each student was involved in an in-depth study of one famous person, researching widely and comprehensively with a view to performing as that person on the night.

This is the first year of the program at McKinnon and from all the feedback it will certainly become a night not to be missed in the future.

All students and their parents should be congratulated for their contributions and time commitment during this program.

Without the assistance of the following staff the nights would not have eventuated either. Thanks to Ms Apostolellis, Mrs Cowland, Mr Jewell, Mr. McLaughlan, Mr. Podbury, Mrs Reynolds and Mr Sweeney.
