McKinnon had a year 7 Sausage Sizzle on Wednesday, March the 3rd.  It was to bring all the parents together and show them around the school.
The peer support leaders were there meeting the parents and helping to dish up the food.

The evening kicked off with a performance from the Year 8 band.  Then a song from the Korean, German and French language groups.  The German group performed two sets of dialogue and two songs.  The songs were Dracula and Feurwork.  The parents were very impressed.  We then headed over to my home room.

My parents enjoyed the meal, and talking to the teachers.  They said that the displays in the classrooms were also very well done by the students.  Each classroom was full of colour
and excitement!  This year's Sausage Sizzle was a BIG success!

This year's year 7 sausage sizzle was an exciting and social night for both the children, parents and the teachers.  We got to be part of science activities and lote presentations, there was also a year 8 band playing for the parents and children.
Our parents were able to visit the rooms and talk to the teachers and look the work that the children have created.  For dinner the peer support leader help with the preparation and organisation of food, they accounted for vegetarians and non vegetarians. All of the lote classes performed for the parents and siblings.
I enjoyed the sausage very much and I'm sure that my mum enjoyed it to!

The parents arrived at 5 o'clock to watch the year 8 band perform, after the band performance the parents went off to allocated areas where the language learning students performed a song or poem about their language.  The parents could then look around in the various classrooms and meet the teachers.

The year 7  Sausage Sizzle was fun.
I had thought it would be a parents' night but it was good for every one.
Our parents had a chance to meet our teachers and to talk with other parents.
We each performed some lote songs  (German French and Korean ) and then we could do what we wanted.
You could have vegetarian or normal sausages .

The year seven sausage sizzle was fun.  The sausages were great and so were the salads.  It was fun performing.  My mum enjoyed the presentations and speaking to the teachers.  I like seeing everyone's brothers and sisters.

I also showed Mum and Dad the science room, and my little brother was amazed with the activities.  After that, I just walked around with some of my friends and explored some of the other home rooms.  Although I felt really tired, I made the most of the fantastic night, and I was later informed that I should be extremely proud of McKinnon.
