WORLD POETRY DAY IS CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION!

Students at McKinnon Secondary College are celebrating World Poetry Day in a number of creative ways. In the classroom, they are writing their own poems to hang as leaves and other "creatures", on the enormous Poet-tree that has appeared in the Library.

Leading up to the big day, short, humorous verses have been appearing in the Staff and Student Bulletins and poetry has appeared as the college computers' wallpaper.

The celebrations of poetry will culminate in a Lunch With a Poem Event to be held in the Library, where staff and students will read their favourite poem, or an original piece.

We hope the event will re-ignite interest in this area of the curriculum and encourage students to see the writing and reading of poetry as a wonderfully creative and fun form of expression.

Of course, where would poetry be without cow poetry?
