McKinnon SC presented its eighth annual Asia Festival from 16th-19th September 2002. This is part of our Access Asia program as a commitment to the Asia Education Foundation at the University of Melbourne. We aim to promote the study of Asia to ensure that our students become more Asia-literate and are well-prepared for their future. The festival is a time for learning and fun, with various activities including demonstrations of Tai Chi, Taekwondo workshops, Chinese medicine and acupuncture, Korean dance, Korean and Indian foods, Henna hand painting.

A pleasant outcome this year was the participation of McKinnon Primary School, Valkstone Primary School and Gardenvale Primary School. Well done to Mrs Meyer for her overall organisation of the festival!

This year's festival poster competition was won by Natasha of Year 9, whose poster is displayed on the left of this page.
