Year 10 Food Technology

Our first night out this year was to a Tibetan Restaurant in Prahran.
This time our visit was to a local Korean restaurant - KimChi Grandma in Carnegie on 7 April, 2003.

Jessica in the spotlight as Mrs. Fenkl talks. Mrs. Anna Fenkl, McKinnon Secondary College’s Korean teacher, talks to students about Korean ingredients and cooking methods.
Kim Chi is a fermented vegetable dish that is used as a substitute for fresh vegetables in Winter. Goon Man Du in the foreground. These pan-fried dumplings, filled with meat and vegetables, were voted one of the best dishes of the night. Delectable cellophane noodles and green vegetables are in the background. We intend to cook these dishes in class in Term 2.
Jenny, Melissa, Kahlia, Angie, Jessica, Sarah, Sierra and Ari…..all talking at once.
Hot seafood and tofu soup was cooked at the table. Not too many takers for this spicy number 30! O Jing O Chon Gol. Mr. Paul Fenkl and Sarah joined us and willingly shared their separate choices.
Ms. Marion Foxcroft, Mrs. Fenkl and Shaun enjoyed the delicacies on offer.
The soup course was served at the end of the main course.
Eating weird rice icecream. It was green on the outside and brown in the middle. Something of a challenge after filling up on rice, beef, chicken, seafood and Kim Chi!
