Peer Support

2002-2003

2002: Peer Support Training

Each year, year 10 McKinnon students are trained to become peer supporters for the new year sevens of the following year. In October 2002, the training began under the capable leadership of Mr Corkill and several dedicated Peer Support teachers.

They learned leadership skills and various games and activities that they would use with their year sevens during their transition from primary to secondary school.

This group was pretty pleased with themselves.

2003: Peer Support begins

Over several days at the beginning of 2003, the peer support leaders took their young year sevens under their wings for a series of games and activities to familiarise them with their new environment and have some fun.

Even the peer support teachers had fun jumping through hoops
