McKinnon Secondary College

The Visit of the Victorian Premier

On 14 May 2004, the Honourable Steve Bracks, Premier of Victoria, visited McKinnon Secondary College to officially open the new Art/Science/Technology block and to recognise the college's fiftieth anniversary.

Accompanying the Premier were: the Honourable Dr Kemp, representing the Federal Minister of Education; Mr Rob Hudson, member for Bentleigh; Ms Jan Lake, director of Southern Region; Mr Noel Pullen, the local MLC; the architects and other worthy notables.

The premier inspected the new wing, visiting science labs, the design and construction facility, visual communication, art, and digital print rooms. He observed classes in action, viewed students' outstanding work and spoke to students about the school, their work and the new building.

He then spoke to the assembled school in the assembly hall.

We thank the premier for his attendance and kind words about the college.
