McKinnon Secondary College

Peer Support 2005

As usual, at the start of year 7, the students are introduced to the school by year 11 volunteers with games and fun.

Each year, all year 10 McKinnon students undertake the peer support training program and 60 are selected to work with the new year sevens of the following year. In October 2004, the training began under the capable leadership of Mr Corkill and several dedicated Peer Support teacher-trainers.

The students learned skills in leadership, communication, teamwork and motivation, as well as various games and activities that they would use with their year sevens to help with their transition from primary to secondary school.
