McKinnon Secondary College Swimming Sports 2005 |
On February 17, 2005 it was a beautiful day for swimming, and the colours were vibrant. Please enjoy these memories of the exciting McKinnon Secondary College Swimming Carnival of 2005, ably led by Mrs Briggs who reports: Loads of activity, food, fun and sun was the order of the day for the House Swimming Sports yesterday. Swimming, diving, volleyball, water polo, novelties and karaoke were all featured. RECORDS Records were broken by Gail and Alison Humphreys. Gail in the Under 14 Breaststroke and Alison in the Open 100m Freestyle. William Nougher and Felix Kennedy also broke records in the Open 100m Freestyle. In the Under 16s, Hugh Frecheville broke two records in the 50m Freestyle and Backstroke. OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES were made by Joseph Cunningham in the Under 13 Boys, winning three out of four events. Nicola Sergienko came second to Gail Humphreys in all her events. Liam Spence won four out of five events in the Under 15 Boys. Heidi and Madelaine Begala dominated the Under 15s. Eleanor Gerrard won three out of four of her events in the Under 16 girls. Julia Haysom in the Under 14s won a swag of ribbons including a second in the 200m Iron Woman. A highlight of the day were the staff/student competitions, with the staff coming second in the Year 12 relay by a short whisker and winning the volleyball. The results of the day were: Chisholm, Gilmore, Monash and Flynn.
