LOTE DAY AT MCKINNON

On the 19th of June 2009, McKinnon Secondary College year 9 and 10 students ran activities under the supervision of Mrs Sonia Zimmermann, Head of LOTE, and the entire LOTE team  for our first ever LOTE day for our Yr 7 and Yr 8 students.

Students played a variety of language games for both French and German classes, such as What’s the time Mr Wolf, Simon says, Musical chairs, Giant Twister, making bookmarks or German calendars, talked about the school exchange and were able to eat French (homemade chocolate mousse, freshly made hot crêpes and macarons from Laurent Pâtisserie) and German food (Bretzels).

Activities were differentiated at Yr 7 and Yr 8 levels to reflect the students' program and were enjoyed by all participants, in particular the French language games, the blind-folded German guessing games and the German bretzels!

All students were fascinated to hear about our school exchange programs, too, from the French correspondents from our partner school, the CIV, in the South of France, currently at our school, or past German class exchange participants.
