Explanatory notes:
Speaking tasks - Such tasks might include the rehearsal of and performance of a role-play with one or more other students; an interview conducted with another student or the teacher, or a recitation of a poem or singing a song.
Reading comprehension - In these tasks the student may, for example, have to: show understanding of items in a written text by ticking boxes or filling in gaps; summarise the main points of information read; read aloud to an audience, or use the information he/she has read in a speaking task or writing task.
Writing tasks - These tasks may be quite diverse: writing a postcard, a sign, a letter, an invitation, or a magazine article etc.
Cultural Project - A research project on a topic related to the national culture(s) of the LOTE concerned, eg on a person/place/event. The project should incorporate both written information and visual/graphic/diagrammatic information, and it will usually be completed in the English language.
General tests - This grade summarises achievement in focused tests, e.g. vocabulary tests, specific language structures, spelling tests, dictation tests.
