SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY – 2008The McKinnon Secondary College community regards the uniform as an important aspect of the College image and general philosophy. Students are expected to wear it with pride and self respect. A note from a parent is always required if students are not in correct uniform (to cover a short period only) and a uniform pass may be issued (if the reason if accepted). GUIDELINES
Outer garments: Years 7-9 - the ONLY acceptable jacket is the navy school nylon jacket embroidered with the college emblem. This cannot be worn in classrooms, but can be worn in the yard and to or from school. Only the school jumper to be worn in class. Years 10-12 - Senior School navy wool jacket or blazer with the College emblem. These can be worn in classrooms. The Year 7-9 jacket is not permitted in Senior School. College bags: Students are expected to use the approved McKinnon Secondary College bag in Years 7-9 but a plain black/navy bag may be used in Years 10-12. There is also a McKinnon S.C sports bag for sport gear only. College cap:A McKinnon Secondary College cap is available from the uniform suppliers. Students in Years 7-10 should wear a cap during outdoor PE and sport. A plain navy wide-brimmed hat is the only other hat which is acceptable. Scarves:Scarves must be plain navy blue with logo. The scarf can only to be worn in class for periods 1 & 2 in the mornings plus in the yard and to and from school. GIRLS' UNIFORM Summer

* Students without PE uniform cannot participate SCHOOL UNIFORM SUPPLIER 2008 MCKINNON UNIFORM SHOP ON-SITE (House at the east end of the Assembly Hall) In February 1999, the school opened an on-site uniform shop. The current supplier is FASHION CLUBWEAR, a Melbourne manufacturer of quality schoolwear. The supplier will pay a generous commission to the school on ALL items sold in this shop. Parents cannot purchase uniforms from the Canterbury office of the supplier. New and second-hand uniforms are sold through the on-site shop. NORMAL HOURS FOR THE ON-SITE SHOP (in the Korean House behind the Assembly Hall) Tuesday morning - 8:15 am to 11:15 am (3 hours) Friday afternoon - 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm (3½ hours) 1st Saturday of each Month – 9.30am to 12 noon (2½ hours) |
