YEAR 7 CAMP

COWES

All Year 7 students attend a three day camp at Cowes, on Phillip Island. Students are involved in a range of activities - bike riding, walking, Red Faces, tabloid games, flying fox, circuitron and so on, as well as visiting the Wildlife Park, the Penguins, Wonthaggi Coal Mine, Amaze'n'things, and much more.

Students stay at CYC Camp in Cowes, in rooms of 4 to 6 students, with their own en-suite. Students are able to choose their room-mates. They are responsible for their own room and have to participate in duty groups during the camp. There are organised activities as well as free time.

What fun will they have?

What previous students have said:

The Year 7 Camp was held at Phillip Island. We went in 2 groups. The bus ride was boring, as usual, but the camp was enjoyable. Before we arrived at the actual camp site, we went down a coal mine. We walked down many metres. For safety we wore helmets with lights on them and we had to keep in our groups to avoid getting lost in the many tunnels.

The Youth camp was a reasonable size. There were many facilities such as trampolines, a basketball court, pool tables, a flying fox and more. Once we were given the rules about the camp from Ms Burrows, we settled into our cabins and got into 2 groups. These groups were called "Flynnash" and "Chilmore". Flynnash went to a Wildlife Park while Chilmore went on a tour around Cowes.  Mary

This camp was a fabulous display of fun, hyperactivity and 24 hour energy. There was not one boring moment, and the girls got a good kick of the footy for once.  Rose

It was excellent but waking up in the morning was horrible. Mr Anderson woke us up by singing over the speaker; it was dreadful. Erin

At camp I like it when we went to see the penguins because they were so cute.  Angela
The trip in the mini bus to the penguins with Mr Chisholm was unforgettable.  Madeleine
I liked going to the beach and walking n the sand.  Hayley

The best part was going on the bike ride to the Wild Life Park. Daniel
