French Exchange students (Week two)

For their second week at our school, the French exchange students spent most of their time following their Australian partners to classes. They also had special classes taught by teachers from all curriculum areas.

Ms Jobson offered a lesson on Australian politics, Mr Jewel taught them “Australian English” and Ms Papworth introduced the French students to Australian music.

The French students also attended French classes across all year levels. During the week, some of them sat with the Year 12 students of French. They engaged in conversations in small groups. The Year 12 students really appreciated practicing their French in genuine conversations. It was very successful as both Australian and French students enjoyed chatting with each other.

We also went on an excursion to the Dandenongs. They could not visit Melbourne without getting on Puffing Billy. The driver kindly explained to students how the engine works. We also went for a walk in the rain forest. Students were really keen to walk and observe this vegetation unknown to them.
