National Science Week

National Science Week is a collection of events large and small staged by individuals and organisations that when, taken together, make up one of Australia’s largest festivals.

This year at, McKinnon Secondary College, the students celebrated National Science Week in a number of ways.

The students participated in class competitions which involved demonstrations and problem solving.  All Year 8 students were involved in Science Survivor and all Year 9 Core students completed the plank engineering challenge.

All students were invited to create something useful out of a used plastic object in a sustainability competition.  During lunchtimes students blew bubbles in the courtyard, fired rockets, judged medieval machines, participated in science quizzes, experienced Oculus Rift and learnt all about snakes.  A great time was had by all!
