Incy and Helena take gold at PC4G

On 11th November two of our year 9 Coding girls, Incy Lin and Helena Huang, travelled to Melbourne University to compete in the Programming Challenge 4 Girls. This event run by the Engineering School at Melbourne University introduced the students to a free programming environment called Alice before setting the teams a challenge to complete on their own by lunchtime. Alice is a 3D graphical world and the students had to create a given storyboard before completing their story in their own way.

There were about 40 teams competing - mostly from independent schools - and our team, named the Pineapples, were one of a few teams who were awarded a gold medal. Well done, girls!

Incy and Helena both said they enjoyed the day and would recommend girls next year also getting involved.
