McKinnon Senior Girls Cricket round robin results

It was a scorching 34 degrees when McKinnon played a 3 game 10/10 round robin of cricket on February 18th.

The first game was against Bentleigh. The girls struggled to get their groove on early, and were dismissed for 29. Bentleigh managed the runs in only 5 overs.

The girls had 15 minutes to hydrate, talk strategy and gain more confidence heading into the Parkdale match. After losing the toss again and being thrown into bat, the girls managed to score 50 runs in their ten overs. A great partnership between Steph Baker and captain Kampi Nainhabo meant a competitive target. Unfortunately Parkdale managed the runs with a couple of overs spare.

Again, regrouping for the final match of the day, MCK lost the toss and were sent in to bat for the third time! 52 runs were scored by MCK, with a great opening partnership between Georgia Foran and Kampi Nainhabo. Kampi ended with 33 not out, a very good batting effort. Unfortunately, Brighton secured the win with 3 overs left.

Whilst the McKinnon girls didn’t manage a win, they certainly impressed with their positive attitudes and energy.

Coach Jobson
