Alumni session with Caitlin Cohen (class of 2016)

McKinnon Secondary College hosted our first Ourschool alumni session on Friday 21st May, with Caitlin Cohen from the Class of 2016.

Caitlin returned to McKinnon to speak to psychology students about her pathway since leaving school. It was a great chance for students to hear some practical tips about study, work and getting a job.

Caitlin graduated from McKinnon in 2016 and went on to study Psychology at Monash University. Following her undergraduate degree, she undertook a fourth-year honours program at St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. Caitlin’s thesis, which focused on psychological outcomes of peri-operative delirium is under review and should (hopefully) be published in the coming months!

Caitlin now works as a full-time clinical researcher on a number of related projects within the hospital. She also works as a teaching associate for the School of Psychological Sciences at Monash University. Caitlin’s areas of interest are neuropsychology and older clinical populations.

Current students can take inspiration, strength and hope from past students - past students who grew up in the same neighbourhood, often taught by the same teachers - who serve as the ultimate relatable role models. Caitlin delivered an engaging, inspiring talk to McKinnon students and we thank her for her valuable time.
