Pitsa Binnion has been named as a finalist in the 2021 Victorian Education Excellence Awards!

Finalists for the 2021 Victorian Education Excellence Awards have been announced with 41 local principals, teachers, business managers and support teams across 14 categories recognised for their achievements in education this year.

We are delighted that Pitsa Binnion has been named among the finalists, a wonderful acknowledgement of her contribution to our school and broader community.

Pitsa Binnion has been chosen as a finalist in the Colin Simpson Outstanding Secondary Principal Award and will appear via a remote link during a live-streamed online award presentation ceremony on 22 October 2021 when the winners will be announced.

Pitsa Binnion was nominated for her great work and sustained commitment to the students and community of McKinnon Secondary College and the government system as a whole.  Working as an advisor, mentor and educational leader, Pitsa Binnion is building teacher and principal capacity across the sector, contributing to Department of Education and Training advisory panels, school reviews and policy development at the highest levels.

Now in its twentieth year, the awards are the premier employee recognition program for staff in Victorian government schools. The awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of staff who improve schools and support children and young people to develop the skills and learning outcomes to succeed in life.

All finalists are in the running to win professional development grants of up to $25,000 to support their work in schools.

The awards demonstrate how dedicated and innovative school staff are making a positive difference to their students and school communities, and to be a finalist is a great achievement. Congratulations again to Pitsa Binnion.
