General Assembly October 2014

The assembly was opened by the National Anthem performed by Morgan Dooley-Axup with accompaniment by Kurowsi on Piano. This was followed by a performance by the Year 12 Music Performance class. The year 12 class performed Ain’t it fun by Paramore and Up all night by Better Than The Wizards. After the performances, the School captains were then invited to the stage to conduct the assembly. Mrs Binnion welcomed the school with the principals address. This was followed by Mr Manolas who filled the stage with students to present the recent Maths competition award. Ms Hatch then presented recent IT awards for the NCSS Challenge and Bebras Competition.  As well, Mr Perry presented certificates for the recent Tournament of the Minds competition. Next Year 12 student and Chisholm House captain, Ash Haw came to stage to present a sports report. Some visual presentations were showcased including the 24/7 Relay Challenge by Georgia Schmidt. The 24/7 relay Challenge raised a tremendous $45,000 for State schools relief. CEO Stephen Iles collected the donation on behalf of State Schools relief. Another visual presentation was from Asia Week, where Mrs Nayyar present the recent festivities from the Asia Week which was on the last week of term 3. Roni Dyskin presented the upcoming Arts Show and Slip club presentation.To conclude the assembly, Mrs Binnion gave a farewell to the current year 12's in their last week of school.
