The Year 7s have been learning all about Algorithms and how to represent an algorithm using a Flowchart. Algorithms are not just confined to Maths or Science. The students learned that almost everything they do at school from writing an English essay to learning how to shoot a Basketball involves a series of processes to go through. In addition, there may be decisions to make along the way. We challenged the students to complete a flowchart for mowing the garden lawn. This was a tricky challenge especially as most students had never undertaken this task. They were given all the steps and had to arrange them in the correct order. They came to realise that there is often more than one solution to solving a problem but the key is that it must achieve its objective.Here are some photos from 7B, 7C, 7E and 7M.
